[Kind of a weird shower confession, but it's what he's got.]

[Beck grimaces at that. With his own father, he ended up ignoring him as much as Elmore Beck had ignored his son. Once he'd left home he didn't want to look back and he hopes his father died sad and alone but he has no idea. Maybe he was even still alive. He really didn't even want to know. But already knowing his boyfriend had a likewise terrible father, Beck just moves closer for support at the extra admissions. Nothing too intrusive if Chris wants his space but he kind of bumps up against Chris, signalling he was there for him and that he wasn't going to judge his actions.]

[He heaves a sigh. It still weighs on him, killing his dad, but maybe not as much as it should.]

He had it coming. But I guess we're all kinda hardwired to want our dads' approval, huh?

Even if they are physically fucking incapable of providing it.

[Beck begins steering him out of the shower, reaching for some towels and tossing one at Chris.]

Even if we wanted their approval as a kid we just have to realise that we're better than them and they didn't deserve to share our blood.

And they don't deserve any of our time or thoughts.

[He grabs the towel and begins to dry off.]

Maybe I should've tried being a supervillain instead of trying so hard to make him like me.

[He shoots Beck a crooked smile.]

You couldn't be a supervillain.

[He places his hand on Chris' chest, over his heart.]

[There's just something about Chris that he's noticed. That despite some of the outlandish things he sometimes says, he's warm and his heart is in the right place. It's also clear to Beck that while there is some naivete to Chris, he's far from stupid. Even Beck's not sure he deserves this man.]

[Chris swallows, touches and a bit shocked by the gesture.]

Dude, you should talk to my dad's old neighbor. He was so sure I was a supervillain.

[But then he's moving to hug the shit out of Beck, not really sure how to put into words what he's feeling.]

[He opens his mouth to reply but then Chis is hugging him tightly and he just smiles and hugs him back. They may still be naked and damp with towels dangling from their hands but this still somehow felt very comfortable. Being wrapped in Chris' arms. He also doesn't want to break the mood by running his mouth too much. He could be notorious for both overthinking and giving lengthy monologues. Now was not the time.]

You're a good dude too, Beck. I kinda got a nose for these things.

[He isn't just saying that because Beck is his boyfriend. He's trying to trust his own instincts over what everybody else says, and they're saying pretty loudly that Beck's been misunderstood. Doesn't matter how long he held that Majestic Mysterio mantle. He's a good guy deep down.]

[The smiles softens, some mild concern or guilt creeping in. He's been pretty upfront and honest about his past here, although of course he hasn't told everybody everything that he's ever done. For once thing, there's too much. For another, there are some things he's ashamed of and that he'd rather not recall himself, burying those memories deep.]

It's nice to hear you say so. I know I've done some messed up shit and some of it I don't even regret doing. I think sometimes we're so far along a path that it's just ... nearly impossible to turn back. You start thinking that's the way you're meant to go and so you just keep on walking, determined to see it through to the end.

I found myself a fork in the road and some guides helping me find a different path. I believe you're one of those guides. You found me and ... I would really like to be that better man that you think is in here.

[Chris nods, taking that all in.]

I was in that same place not long ago, so I know the deal, man. It's not that you need guides, you just need to listen to yourself better.

And I think you're doing a pretty bang-up job at that.

I'm here for you no matter what you did.

If I listened to myself, my inner voice would be telling me I have my part to play and I shouldn't be trying to be ... something I'm not. As if fate already has my life and role written and I can't change that.

[He sighs.]

It's hard to break out of that mindset sometimes.

[He does struggle with it.]

[He surmises.]

You should listen to me and Gokudera instead.

[He gives a small but genuine smile and finishes towelling himself off.]

Guess we should put clothes on now.

[Seemed like the logical next step even if he felt strangely comfortable being naked right now. It's not something he'd generally do around the house.]

Do you have any spare bathrobes instead?

['Cause he's not feeling like putting his whole ass clothes back on again.]

Oh, sure, yeah. I'll get 'em.

[He does have a couple of robes he likes to lounge lazily in at times. He goes to fetch them from his room and comes back with one that is an electric blue made of a comfy fuzzy material; the other is silky and emerald green.]

The electrofuzz, please.

[As he slips into it, he becomes fuzzified.]

Good choice. You look good in blue.

[More of a hero colour too, even if he sometimes wore blue himself, it more often was green or purple. He slips on the silken robe. It's very reminiscent of his costumed bodysuit but of course much looser.]

You're looking pretty damn sharp yourself.

[He very lightly punches Beck on the shoulder.]

Bathbros.

[He grins.]
