[With Bonehead and Beck both distracted, Chris uses the opportunity to launch a surprise hug.

On Beck, not Bonehead.]

H-hey...

[He's startled but laughing more, then hugging back.]

I'm happy to see you too, buddy.

[Hugging Beck is starting to be like a drug he's hooked on.

No shitty side-effects that he can see, either.]

Ready to head out, dude?

Sure thing.

[He grins at Chris, eying him with a enamoured look, laced with a touch of desire. But he looks away quickly, cheeks reddened slightly. Maybe it's the weather? He feels a bit giddy, even as he tries to fight that juvenile feeling. But it kind of was a first actual date between them...]

Let's go.

[It's pretty definitely a third date, this one just has the label on. Chris has to fight the urge to take Beck's hand -- that's neither cool nor manly -- and just walk beside him to the promised burger land.]

[He was thinking the others were more of a first meeting and then a kind of drinks and hook-up - both great but this time he hoped to have more time for talking and getting to know Chris, eat and maybe see a movie and more traditional date things. That sex might also happen was a bonus but Beck was still thinking of it as a first real date. Then again, he was not used to dating... so that is indeed just what he'd labelled this one. It felt somehow more romantic - and he was a romantic at heart.]

It's not too far.

[If his hand had been taken, he wouldn't have objected, manly or not. Things just felt right to him when he was with Chris. So everything they did together must be right... Right? He did wonder if Chris felt the same way. His one kind-of very brief romance back home - that wasn't just pure fantasy - had ended very badly. It had been his first kiss - she'd kissed him and he'd been in his thirties. He'd soon proposed and then she betrayed him and ran off with another man the instant that ranting Mysterio persona showed up again. So he'd been burned by that and in some way he was glad that Chris had already seen him in that form - and he still agreed to this date. Maybe that was a good sign.]

Cool.

[They walk in quietude for a few dozen seconds, comfortable enough with each other not to need the constant chatter.]

How've you been? And how's Gokudera healing up?

He's getting there. He's tough and really determined.

Me?

[He shrugs.]

I'm okay. Better now.

How about you? Been up to anything fun?

I met Wriothesley who's apparently another hot henchman of Dorian's.

We've decided we should compete for his attention, in the movie. Make it a love triangle squared.

Yeah. I think Gokudera wants to contract him too.

And sure, I'm open to input. I'm working on the script but it was Gokudera's initial idea for the Bomber.

I'm excited to get to the filming. It was already delayed and then we also lost out leading lady so... more delays. Not to mention that festival...

[He sighs heavily.]

So many delays. But I like to be working on the film set. Being able to create.

[They're approaching the bar now. A neon sign proclaims the name: Time Heisters. Inside there's also a lot of neon and pinball and claw machines on the main floor arcade. Bar upstairs. Strangely for this city, the majority of prizes are not sexual but include things like large teddy bears and oversized-hammers. It all has a very retro feel.]

Have you managed to find a replacement for the leading lady yet?

[Time Heisters. That's a badass name for a place. And a pretty cool place to boot if first impressions count. It reminds Chris of his childhood. Something pure and beautiful if dimly lit and full of cigarette smoke.]

Not yet. It's been far easier to get men to sign on.

But maybe if you find a sexy woman who can kick ass, you can ask if she can act.

Have you asked Sara Lance? She seems pretty cool. Hot and kicks ass like a fucking pro.

I don't think we've met.

I did hire a woman named Mikaela recently but she only wanted to work behind the scenes, on the crew.

[That name does ring a bell... but his memories of the Tumenalia party are a bit hazy.]

Sara is sort of a superhero like me. Hardcore ass-kicker without actual superpowers. Code name is Canary.

We met kicking some goons' ass during Tumenalia.

I'll have to find her contact details, unless you have them. She from your world?

I think she is. We'd never met before here, though.

That happens.

[He looks around.]

So you want to eat first?

Yeah.

Then maybe we can have a few rounds at the arcade.

[Beck nods and starts heading up the stairs to the food and bar area. Off to the side there was also a karaoke stage but there was a sign saying that wasn't open until 10pm. The menu had the usual hearty takeaway fare - burgers, fries, pizza.]

Order what you want. My treat.

[Well, kind of his Dom's treat. Gokudera had been supportive and willing to pay but he also had been thinking more of a fancy restaurant and this certainly wasn't that. So this would be cheap in comparison, even if they bought ten burgers. He also had some cash saved up from his various jobs but much of that was going into his film projects. He was happy to let Gokudera cover most expenses.]

Burgers and fries and a big coke for me. I like the classics.

Same for me.

[Beck tells the waitstaff and they get to the order while he finds a good table, off to the side. The place isn't overly busy but there are a few people around. It's likely going to be bustling later in the night.]
